The Tigers fall to the Crimson Tide in The Capital City Classic

Montgomery, Alabama (EETV)- The Auburn Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide kicked off the Capital City Classic on Tuesday afternoon. The game started off slow, with the Tide scoring a run in the bottom of the second.

Auburn tied the game in the fourth on an unearned run, but Alabama quickly came back in the bottom of the inning on two-RBI base on balls.

Junior Rankin Woley hit an RBI single in the fifth and sophomore Edouard Julien followed suit in the top of the seventh to tie the game, 3-3.

The Tide regained the lead in the bottom of eighth on a wild pitch and a two-RBI double. The Tigers couldn't come back in the ninth after the Tide pitched a 1-2-3 inning, and Auburn was defeated 6-3.

The Tigers look to increase their 4-2 conference record on Friday, with a three game series against the Gamecocks in South Carolina.
