Baseball completes sweep of BYU

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - No. 25 Auburn continued their perfect start to the season with a sweep over the BYU Cougars.  The win puts the Tigers one win away from matching their best start since 2001.

On Friday Auburn pitcher Casey Mize had a season-high nine strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings and three earned runs. On the offensive side, Edouard Julien led the Tigers going 1-2 with a three-run homer in the 6th as Auburn would go on to win 4-3.

On Saturday Auburn and BYU played a doubleheader to decide the series. In the first game, Auburn had an offensive explosion in the first two innings putting up 13 runs. 

Freshman Davis Daniel would have a career-high five strikeouts in six innings pitched. In the sixth inning, Edouard Julien hit a grand slam to give Auburn an 18-4 lead. 

Auburn would get three more runs in the seventh giving the Tigers a 21-4 victory.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Auburn would win 9-5 with offensive production from Connor Davis and Luke Jarvis, who both had two RBI's. 

Pitching came from Tanner Burns and Cody Greenhill who gave up only four runs with five strikeouts.

Auburn improves their record to 12-0 and will return to action against UAB on Tuesday night in Birmingham.
