Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn looked to continue their momentum after taking down former No. 1 Georgia.

Facing Louisiana-Monroe the Tigers started off slow with the game being knotted up at 7 at the end of the first quarter.

"We came out a little slow," said head coach Gus Malzahn. "Which is uncharacteristic of us."

But after the first quarter, Auburn never looked back.

Jarrett Stidham connected with Darius Slayton for a 50-yard score to give the Tigers a 14-7 lead early on.

Slayton would finish with 4 catches for 89 yards and a touchdown.

"At halftime, we really challenged our guys, and they finished like they should have," said Malzahn.

Kerryon Johnson continued to add to his impressive season with 22 rushes for 137 yards and one touchdown, marking the 7th time this season he has topped the 100-yard mark for rushing yards.

Second-string running back Kam Martin finished the day with 83 yards and 2 touchdowns.

"He came out fresh and it as like he just shot out of a cannon," said Malzahn. "He's done a solid job for us all year. He really gave us a boost when he came in."

The defense held ULM to only 14 points, the defense's sixth time holding their opponent to 14 or less this season.

Deshaun Davis led the way with nine total tackles and two tackles for loss along with a sack.

The defense added an interception return for a touchdown by Nick Ruffin in the third quarter to put the Tigers up by 28.

The Tigers will now host No.1 Alabama Saturday, Nov. 25.
