Shooting Reported on North Gay Street in Auburn

AUBURN, Ala (EETV)- Auburn police are investigating a gunshot that occurred early Tuesday at an apartment complex located in the 800 block of North Gay Street. According to police division spokesman Lorenza Dorsey, officers responded to the shot fired call and that their preliminary investigation indicates that a single gunshot was fired from an upstairs apartment into floor below. Dorsey states that the incident steamed from a verbal altercation in the upstairs apartment and that three males were seen leaving the seen of the upstairs apartment before officers arrived.

SGA Approves For the Funding of the BSU Step Show

On Monday Night the SGA finalized the bill to fund the Black Student Union for their National Pannehelinic Council Step Show happening in Spring 2018. The Black Student Union represents the interests and concerns of black students at Auburn University and they strive to intertwine all aspects of black student life for the purpose of improving the campus environment.  They are being funded $5,000 towards this event.

AUBURN, Ala (EETV)- The Top Five candidates for the Miss Auburn position were announced Tuesday night. Bailey Sullivan, Bria Randal, Mary Spencer Veazey, Zuri Foster and Kathryn Kennedy were announced as this year’s candidates.

Political Strategist and former White House Journalist Visit Auburn

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Veteran Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile and longtime ABC News White House Corespondent Ann Compton spoke at Auburn University’s Student Center Ballroom Tuesday evening. The event, which was part of the University’s Critical Conversations Speaker Series, was meant to be a dialog on recent political events, especially how they relate to the media. The conversation was moderated by Auburn University Associate Provost for Inclusion and Diversity Taffye Benson-Clayton and featured questions from members of the Auburn community who were encouraged to use the hashtag #AUConvos.

Delta Air Lines to contribute in the expansion of numerous programs at Auburn University

Delta Air Lines, Delta Air Lines Foundation, and the Jacobson Family Foundation will give $6.2 million to support numerous programs at Auburn University during an event at the Auburn University Regional Airport on Friday.  This gift will fund the expansion of the Delta Air Lines Aviation Education Building and the university's Radio- Frequency Identification, also known as RFID Lab.

Alabama Unemployment Rate Falls

MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) – Alabama Governor Kay Ivey announced today that Alabama’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted October unemployment rate is 3.6%, down from September’s previous record-tying rate of 3.8%, and well below October 2016’s rate of 6.1%. “We had great news last month, when we announced that Alabama’s unemployment rate had tied its lowest ever.
