Auburn's College of Education opens new facility, to host fall preview Nov. 11

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) –  Construction for Auburn University’s new College of Education building is complete as of this past spring, and the new state-of-the-art facility is in full use. Beginning its construction in July of 2023, the building is home to over 60-degree options.

The 167,000-square-foot building had its grand opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting this past August. The building however, was already being used by students and faculty this past summer.

Preston Sparks, Director of Communications and Marketing for the College of Education, expressed how excited everyone was to have a space that catered to every student at all levels.

The new building has 17 huddle spaces for collaborative learning and pop-up meetings, five seminar rooms and up-to-date technology and administrative spaces for faculty and staff.

Sparks mentioned the "very bright facility," while talking about the many windows and doors on the new building. Sparks said that the new building was three stories high with over 2,093 light fixtures, 450 doors, and 318 windows.

"It's been great to see the building come to life, with students milling about, and of course lots and lots of classes taking place, and just a lot of great collaborative learning,” said Sparks

Sparks is ecstatic about the future and encourages people to attend their fall preview on Nov. 11 from 8:30 to 11 a.m. The preview will show everything that the College of Education has to offer, including meeting with representatives of Director Sparks unit and more.
