No. 6 Auburn Women’s Golf traveled to Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, for the Nanea Invitational, facing a highly competitive field that featured No. 1 Stanford, No. 10 Texas, and No. 17 UCLA.
Round one was by far Auburn’s best, as the Tigers finished the day in first place shooting a program record 21-under 271 – the lowest single-round score in program history. Freshman Charlotte Cantonis led the team with a stellar 8-under finish, including eight birdies. Anna Davis followed closely behind, firing a 7-under round with eight birdies of her own. Auburn looked unstoppable, heading into round two.
However, the Tigers struggled to maintain their momentum in the second round, finishing six over for the day and dropping to fourth place overall. Davis was the only Auburn player to finish under par in round two, carding a 3-under and holding onto her spot among top individual scorers.
Auburn bounced back in round three, shooting 6-under collectively which was enough to jump Texas and finish third in the tournament. Davis continued to anchor the Tigers, shooting even par in the final round to tie for first individually at 10-under overall.
Cantonis tied for fifth at 8-under, earning her second top-10 finish of the season. She capped her tournament with four birdies and a 2-under final round. Bálma Dávalos and Anne Fernandez shot identical scores, each finishing round three 2-under and 1-under for the tournament.
The Tigers’ third place finish marks their third top-three finish of the season. Despite the strong showing, Auburn fell short of No. 1 Stanford, who ran away with a 23-stroke lead, and No. 21 Arizona State, who finished four strokes ahead.
Auburn will play their next match in 2026 when the Tigers travel to Eagle Creek Golf Club in Orlando, Fla., where they will compete in the PDI Intercollegiate from January 25-27.
