Director of Aubie applications are now open

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn University is looking for a new Director of Aubie. The loveable mascot needs a lot of help with his busy schedule, and that’s where students come in.

As a Director of Aubie, students can gain valuable experience while serving their community. To learn more about the position, Eagle Eye met with Riley Ferguson, one of the current Directors of Aubie.

“There are so many great reasons that being a Director of Aubie is a great opportunity. Being a Director allows you to be part of something bigger than yourself. You get to serve the University and community while hanging out with Aubie, which is always fun.”

Ferguson discussed some of the skills students gain working in a position such as this one saying, “When I first became a Director, I wasn’t even half the person I am now. I have gained so many professional and soft skills that I will be able to take with me after this.”

Not only is this position an incredible opportunity for professional and personal development, but it is a rare and unique opportunity, that only a few people can experience in a hands-on way.

“You get to experience some neat things serving as a Director, from a child’s first interaction with Aubie to Aubie meeting prospective students, to meeting Auburn legends yourself. Being a Director of Aubie has changed my life for the better and I am super grateful for this program,” explained Ferguson.

To apply, students can attend one of six mandatory information sessions, and later complete an interview. For more information, check out the AUinvolve page.
