SGA holds a voter registration drive for students to raise awareness

AUBURN, Ala. - (EETV) Tuesday, Sep. 19 was National Voter Registration Day and the Student Government Association wanted to make sure Auburn students were prepared.

Last Tuesday a booth was set up on the Haley Concourse in order to help inform students on how they can register and to emphasize just how important it is to go out and vote.

It attracted many students on the Haley Concourse interested in registering. Students like Jack Steudle talked about the importance of the event, and how seeing other students you recognize talking about voting and fighting for a cause can inspire other students to do the same.

Another voter registration drive will take place Oct. 5-6 so be sure to make it to the second if you couldn't come to the first. They will help you sign up and educate you on what all you'll be voting on in November.

Living in Alabama you have to have registered to vote 15 days before the election, so don't miss out. Register to vote and make your voice heard.

To register to vote in Lee County you must be a U.S. citizen, your permanent residence must be in the state of Alabama, you must be 18 years or older and you cannot have been convicted of a disqualifying felony. Contact your local board of registrars for more information.
