Auburn Tigers Take On McNeese State At War Eagle Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. - This Saturday, the Auburn Tigers continue to dominate on the court as they sweep the McNeese State Cowgirls 3-0 in their second win of the War Eagle Invitational.

The first set ended with Auburn leading 25 to McNeese's 15. Sophomore Akasha Anderson leading the way with five kills while Senior Bella Bell followed closely behind with another four. The team worked diligently to fend of McNeese's attacks, setting the tone for the rest of the game.

Anderson continued to rule the court with another six kills and an ace in the second set. The sophomore would finish the morning by tying her career high with four aces. The Tigers finished off the set once again with a score of 25 to 15.

In the final set of the match, the Cowgirls gave the Tigers a run for their money with an early start leading by as many as four points. However, the Tigers were quick to defend their title with Bell's five kills and Anderson's three aces. The Auburn Tigers took back the lead and finished off the third set with a score of 25-22.

This weekend, the Tigers plan to take on SMU and Florida State at the Seminole Invitational starting Saturday, September 2nd at 12pm CT.
