Pitching by the Tigers Shuts Out Merrimack Warriors

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Auburn’s first showoff against Merrimack in the Plainsman Invite ended in a victory.

The Tiger’s starter Annabelle Widra had a lights-out performance in her few innings in the game. She allowed no hits throughout her 2 inning debut.

Meanwhile, the Tigers got things started in the first inning. Neila Peralta kicked things off for Auburn with a double off the wall. This would aid the Tigers to have 5 hits in just one inning with a score of 6-0.

Bri Ellis hit a 3-run home run to right-center in the second inning for Auburn. A rally of 7 more hits came to be for the Tigers in the conclusion of the second, third, and fourth innings.

One bright spot for Merrimack was a double by Madison Cerpa in the fourth inning. However, the game succeeded after the Warriors were unable to score in the top of the fifth allowing a mercy rule.

Pitchers Emmah Rolfe and Icess Tresvik aided Widra in the victory over the Merrimack Warriors of North Andover, Massachusetts.

The Auburn Tigers have been undefeated so far for the weekend. They are scheduled to play North Dakota State on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 12 p.m. to wrap up the Plainsman Invite.
