The Tigers turn more heads as they add four-star recruit Marissa Neal

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn’s gymnastics continues to add immense talent to its 2024 roster.

After adding five-star prospect Olivia Ahern and four-star prospect Katelyn Jong, the Tigers gained four-star recruit Marissa Neal. The Blue Springs, Missouri native is Auburn’s fifth recruit to join the stacked class of 2024, which has been ranked fourth nationally by College Gym News.

“She’s definitely a big deal,” Rebecca Scally, a gymnastics recruiting analyst from College Gym News, states, “She is somebody that Auburn should be very excited to have.”

On October 17, Neal announced her verbal commitment to Auburn University by calling it “A DREAM COME TRUE!” on her Instagram.

“I am so excited to announce that I have verbally committed to Auburn University on a full-ride athletic scholarship!” Marissa continues, “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, and family for the endless amount of love and support. I can’t wait to join such a special team! War Eagle!”

This weekend in Houston, both Marissa Neal and Katelyn Jong will compete at the 2022 U.S. Women’s World Team Selection Camp competition to earn a spot on the U.S. national team.

The women’s competition starts Friday, October 21, at 6 pm C.T. and continues to Saturday at 4:50 pm C.T., which USA Gymnastics streams on FlipNow. Olympics.com will also provide live updates during the competition.
