Bruce Pearl Named SEC Coach of the Year

AUBURN, ALABAMA (EETV)- Head coach Bruce Pearl was named the SEC Coach of the Year after leading Auburn to its first outright SEC Regular Season Title since 1999. Pearl earned this award when the Southeastern Conference released their annual awards list on Tuesday.

This is the third time that Pearl has been named SEC Coach of the Year. The last two times he won the award, Pearl was coaching at Tennessee. 

Pearl led Auburn to 15 conference wins this season, a program record for Auburn. Along the way, Auburn went undefeated in the newly named Neville Arena and won 25 plus games for the fourth time in the last five seasons. 

This Pearl’s eight time to win such an honor doing it three times in the Horizon League and twice as the head coach of Southern Indiana. Pearl is also the sixth Auburn head coach to win SEC Coach of the Year joining Joel Eaves, Bob Davis, Sonny Smith, Tommy Joe Eagles and Cliff Ellis. Pearl is also on the Naismith Men’s College Coach of the Year watchlist.
