Auburn, AL (EETV) - An Opelika Police officer was struck by a hit and run suspect in Wednesday afternoon.
Around 1:00 PM, an OPD officer responded to the parking lot of Kroger in the Tiger town.The suspect attempted to flee the scene and hit the officer with the vehicle upon arrival.
The officer was taken to the hospital. Officials said he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Shortly after, The Auburn Police Department located the suspect vehicle in the Auburn area. The suspect is currently on the run.
Several agencies are searching the area in an attempt to locate the suspect.
