Pair of Auburn players corral SEC honors

Auburn, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn defenders Zakoby McClain and Colby Wooden were honored by the SEC league office on Monday for their weekend performance.

Senior linebacker Zakoby McClain was honored as the Co-Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the 31-20 win over No. 10 Ole Miss. McClain totaled 14 tackles and two sacks. 10 of his 14 tackles were solo efforts. The Valdosta, Georgia native has now totaled 12 career games with double-digit tackles. McClain was also honored by the Reese's Senior Bowl as their Defensive Player of the Week.

Sophomore defensive end Colby Wooden was honored as the Defensive Lineman of the week for the second straight game. Wooden totaled five tackles and a quarterback hurry in the win. Four of Wooden's tackles were solo efforts. The Lawrenceville, Georgia native also earned this honor when the Tigers travelled to Arkansas on Oct. 16. This season Wooden has totaled 20 tackles and four sacks.
