Auburn Gymnastics Won't Compete in NCAA Regional Championship

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Auburn Gymnastics team will not compete at the 2021 NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional Championship this weekend due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing within the program.

The decision is consistent with COVID-19 management requirements put forth by the NCAA and the SEC.

The No. 15 Auburn Gymnastics team was supposed to compete in the night session at 7 p.m. CT and were the fourth seed in the Tuscaloosa Regional.

The Tigers were supposed to match up with No. 1 seed Oklahoma, Missouri and the winner between Eastern Michigan and Maryland.

Auburn will miss out on the post-season for the second straight year, COVID-19 being the season-ender both times.
