Auburn, AL (EETV)- Auburn University has cancelled the August commencement cermonies due to travel restrictions and concerns about large in person gatherings.
The ceremonies were originally scheduled for August 8th at 7am and 7pm. Spring and Summer graduates would be combined due to spring commencement being canceled.
The University will welcome graduates back to the plains to visit campus with thier families. Each school will have the opportunity to go into Jordan-Hare Stadium to take pictures from 8am to 5pm as well as having their name put on the video board.
Other buildings including Auburn Arena, Student Center, AU Bookstore, and Samford Hall will be open for people to visit. No descisions have been made about the December graduation but school officials plan to monitor the current health and safety protocols.
