AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - Update: Friday 3/20 at 10 a.m. As of Friday morning, there are 81 total confirmed cases of COVID-19, the novel coronavirus, according to the Alabama Department of Public Health.

There have not yet been any deaths.

Alabama is now taking measures to limit the spread of the virus in the state. Those measures include prohibiting gatherings of 25 people or more, closing all senior citizen centers, private schools, preschools, childcare centers, and public schools.

Restaurants in the state will only be allowed to offer food for takeout or delivery for at least one week.
