SGA President Mary Margaret Turton responds to news of Leath's departure

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - After news of Auburn President Steven Leath's departure late Friday evening, Auburn SGA President Mary Margaret Turton is speaking out.

In a statement to Eagle Eye TV, Turton said, "The student body thanks Dr. Leath for taking Auburn to new heights in the student experience and research expansion, providing ample opportunities for the personal and professional development of Auburn men and women. Eager to work for the betterment of Auburn, we are grateful for administration’s consistent commitment to amplify the student voice in this transition. We thank Dr. and Mrs. Leath for their lasting impact on our university."

Turton was elected SGA president in February. In the role, she works closely with university administration on behalf of students.
