Union Springs man charged with burglary and use of defensive spray

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, Auburn Police arrested Stanley Bernard Davis Jr., age 22, from Union Springs on felony warrants charging him with burglary second degree and criminal use of defensive spray.


At about 7 a.m., Auburn Police received a burglary interrupted call at a residence in the 300 Block of Lee Road 10. Responding Officers were given the description of an individual that unlawfully entered the residence, rummaged through a cabinet and was contacted by one of the residents. During the confrontation, the individual, identified as Davis, sprayed the resident with a defensive spray (mace) and fled but was located by officers in the vicinity.

Further investigation resulted in Davis being developed as a suspect. He was positively identified as the individual responsible and charged with burglary second degree and criminal use of defensive spray. No property was taken and no injuries were reported. Davis was transported to the Lee County Jail and is being held on an $8,000 bond.
