Opelika man charged with burglary and theft of property

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- On June 4, 2017, Auburn Police arrested Quincy Raymond Gilmore, age 22 from Opelika on warrants charging him with Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 3rd Degree.

On June 3, 2017, Auburn Police received a report of a burglary at a residence in the 200 Block of Martin Avenue. The victim reported that someone forcibly entered their residence when they weren’t home and stole electronics valued at $1,300.

Further investigation into the incident by Auburn Police resulted in Gilmore being developed as a suspect. APD Officers located Gilmore in a vehicle a short time later and recovered the stolen electronics. He was taken into custody on unrelated charges and transported to the Lee County Jail. Detectives obtained arrest warrants charging him with burglary 3rd degree and theft of property 3rd degree; those warrants were executed while he was incarcerated in the Lee County Jail.

Gilmore remains in custody on a $4,000 bond.
