Auburn City fest set for Saturday

Auburn, Ala. – Auburn’s largest outdoor arts and crafts festival is back for its 17thyear on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Kiesel Park.  CityFest is fueled by city departments, including the Auburn Public Library, Public Safety, Auburn Fire Division and Environmental Services in addition to Parks and Recreation as all contribute to provide Auburn CityFest for the community.

The event will be Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m at Kiesel Park. This year’s theme is Peace, Love and CityFest! Local residents, students and patrons of all ages are invited to spend the day viewing local artwork, listening to groovy musical entertainment and participating in a variety of interactive events and performances. 

New to the 2017 CityFest is a pop-up library, brought by Auburn Public Library. The library will also have a booth where patrons can sign up for a library card. Storytime will occur at the booth periodically throughout the day

Auburn Public Safety coordinates parking for CityFest, and officers to direct parking for the festival to ensure ease and order for entering and exiting the park. Public Safety also protects CityFest patrons by stationing at the entrances of the festival. A D.A.R.E booth with be set up to offer kids an opportunity to learn about the program.

The Auburn Fire Division provides a fire truck and fire division personnel for the safety of CityFest patrons during the event.

Environmental Services is going to Keep Auburn Beautiful at CityFest by contributing recycling and garbage cans for the festival. An informational booth will be set up by Environmental Services with information on Animal Care, RecycleAuburn and Keep Auburn Beautiful. Giveaways, including dog leashes, reusable grocery bags, pens, Frisbees, seeds, herb mixes, Forget Me Nots and wildflower mixtures, will be available at this booth.
