Burns opens series against Cincinnati with a complete game shutout.

Auburn, AL- The Auburn Tigers welcomed the Cincinnati Bearcats to Plainsman Park last night, allowing just two hits. Sophomore Tanner Burns was the man responsible for shutting out the Bearcats, 5-0. 

The Tigers' bats heated up in the bottom of the fourth with Rankin Woley's leadoff single to right field. Everett Lau and Ryan Bliss both singled to load the bases. Freshman Kason Howell reached on a fielder's choice scoring Woley and Catcher Matt Scheffler scored Lau on a sacrifice bunt. The Tigers led the Bearcats 2-0 in the fourth.

Junior Will Holland led off the fifth drawing a walk, and eventually scoring on Woley's RBI single. Auburn's final runs came in the bottom of the seventh after Edouard Julien singled up the middle and advanced to third on two wild pitches. The next batter, sophomore Stephen Williams, hit a two-run home run scoring Julien and himself.

The Tigers look to get the series win in today's doubleheader with game one at 2 p.m., and game two at 6 p.m.
