AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn Police Division is investigating an accidental drowning that occurred Thursday at a local apartment complex.
Officers responded to the complex in the 400 block of Opelika Road after receiving an accidental drowning call.
Police say that CPR was immediately performed on the victim in an effort to resuscitate him and was continued by Emergency Medical personnel arriving on the scene.
The victim, a three year old male, was transported by ambulance to East Alabama Medical Center Emergency Room where he continued to receive lifesaving treatment.
The child was pronounced dead by an Emergency Room physician at 9:45 p.m.
Auburn Police are still investigating the drowning.
