Midterm 2018: Republican Lt. Governor runoff candidates

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Republican voters will decide Tuesday who they want to represent them in the lieutenant governor's race.

Twinkle Cavanaugh currently serves as the President of the Alabama Public Service Commission, a position she has had since 2012. Cavanaugh's campaign is aimed at making the state "a brighter place" and focuses on bringing conservative values to state government. Prior to serving on the Public Service Commission, Cavanaugh served on former Gov. Bob Riley's cabinet and was the first female chair of the Alabama Republican Party.

Will Ainsworth is a state representative from Guntersville, a position he has held since 2014. Before venturing into politics, Ainsworth operated a successful hunting lodge with his brother. Ainsworth's campaign is aimed at brining new jobs, improving education and setting a higher ethical standard for state leaders.

The winner of Tuesday's runoff will face Democratic candidate Will Boyd.
