MONTGOMERY, Ala. (EETV) - Governor Kay Ivey announced today that Alabama’s preliminary, seasonally adjusted September unemployment rate is 3.8%, down from August’s rate of 4.2%, and well below September 2016’s rate of 6.0%. The last time Alabama’s unemployment rate was this low was in April 2007, when it also measured 3.8%, the lowest rate in recorded history.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) -- Veterinary medicine students often find themselves immersed in learning environments in the classroom or laboratory, intensely studying their coursework. Throughout the months of October and November, however, Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine students enrolled in an outreach elective course are participating in a community service program in northeast Alabama, providing veterinary services to underserved areas.

AUBURN, AL (EETV) - Next Friday, October 20, marks the beginning of the new School of Nursing building with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 3 p.m. This building is the the first one designed at Auburn specifically for nursing education. The building, located on the corner of South Donahue Drive and Lem Morrison Drive, has multiple new features within the 89,000-square-foot facility.

AUBURN, AL (EETV)- A preliminary investigation has determined that Sadie Grace Andrews, age 3, from Auburn died as a result of falling into a ground level grease separating container outside a business in the 2100 block of East University Drive on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Officers responded at about 12:45 p.m. and arrived as CPR was being performed on Andrews. APD Officers continued CPR efforts until paramedics arrived and transported her to EAMC. Medical efforts to revive Sadie Grace Andrews were unsuccessful and she was pronounced deceased at 1:28 p.m.

AUBURN, Ala (EETV): A reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect(s) in the death of Herman Cornelius “Ce-Ce” Lane, age 26 from Auburn. On March 4, 2017, Police responded to an apartment complex on North Dean Road in Auburn and discovered Lane, deceased as the result of an apparent homicide.

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) - The Donald E. Davis Arboretum at Auburn University is taking orders for the fall plant sale. The plant sale features the Auburn Azalea series, which is a collection of hybrid native azaleas that were created through the efforts of Auburn scientists, faculty and staff over the course of decades. The azaleas are planted throughout the university landscape and come in various colors, including multiple shades of orange.
