AUBURN, Ala. (EETV) – Two Auburn University seniors will interview for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship in the following weeks. Kasey Cooper, a senior majoring in mechanical engineering with a minor in sports coaching, and Matthew Rogers, a senior majoring in software engineering, will travel to Birmingham in mid-November to interview with other finalists from Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Mississippi, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

MONTGOMERY, Ala (EETV) - Alabama’s hospitals performed better than the national performance level last year in four important infection-related categories according to the latest report by the Alabama Department of Public Health. The 2016 report on healthcare-associated infections reveals state and hospital-specific infection rates on catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), central line-associated blood stream infections (CLABSIs) and two surgical site infection measures (abdominal hysterectomies and colon surgeries).

AUBURN, Ala (EETV) – Governor Kay Ivey on Monday announced that Milwaukee-based Briggs & Stratton Corp. plans to begin production of Vanguard big block V-twin engines at its Auburn location in 2018, ultimately creating approximately 50 new jobs for the area. The project involves a $12 million investment from the company.
