Auburn HR looking for student feedback

AUBURN, AL (EETV)- Auburn University students are invited to complete a brief survey about on-campus student employment and to share their suggestions for enhancing the University’s current processes. Survey results will be used to help configure TigerTalent, a campus-wide Talent Management System which is scheduled to launch by the end of this year.

Auburn student wins prestigious scholarship

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)– Auburn University sophomore Elizabeth Farrar will work this summer on a research project in Germany that focuses on the parasites that cause sleeping sickness, a disease deadly to both humans and animals. Farrar is one of only 150 students nationwide selected to conduct undergraduate research in Würzburg, Germany, this summer as a German Academic Exchange Service Research Intern in Science and Engineering, or RISE, undergraduate fellow.

Auburn Parking Services to host open forum for students Thursday

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University Parking Services will be hosting an open forum for students in Student Center Room 2223 from 11:00 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The event will feature free food, activities and a special guest visitor.  According to Parking Services the forum will offer students a chance to voice their opinions regarding parking on Auburn's campus. This comes as Auburn University is currently looking at possibly adding a new parking deck on South College Street close to the Hotel at Auburn University.

Auburn Glomerata distribution this week

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn University Glomerata, the official campus yearbook, will be distributed to students starting Tuesday. The Glomerata team will be passing the books out on the Haley, Thatch and Roosevelt concourses. The books are free for Auburn University students with a valid TigerCard.

Campus Legend, ‘the Nun’, Reflects on Her Time at Auburn University

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- It is hard to forget — the whistle blowing, the counselors screaming and a little lady exploding like a firecracker into the auditorium. The Nun has entered the room and is ready to excite the incoming freshmen for what will hopefully be the best four years of their lives. Although only a short segment of the Camp War Eagle experience, “Fun with the Nun” gives new students a chance to meet the long-Qme campus celebrity.

Final Lecture: Dr. Mark Wilson

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Auburn University Student Government Association hosted its annual Final Lecture Monday night in the Mell Classroom Building. Dr. Mark Wilson, Director of Civic Learning Initiatives for the College of Liberal Arts and Director of Auburn's Caroline Marshall Draughon Center for the Arts and Humanities, was this year's speaker. Wilson was selected by the student body for the honor earlier this year during the spring SGA elections.

LEATH: Auburn to add 500 faculty, boost housing and dining

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Auburn University President Dr. Steven Leath announced drastic new plans to hire an additional 500 faculty members along with major campus housing expansions during his installation speech Thursday. Leath, who is Auburn’s 19th president, focused much of his speech on his vision for making Auburn University into a “world-class academic, research, and service university.” See the full speech, here. The vision included helping to turn Auburn into, as Leath described, a “top-tier” research-heavy institution. One way Leath plans to accomplish that goal is by hiring roughy 500 new tenure-track faculty members who would be scholarship and research focused.

Parking and height restrictions discussed at final SGA Town Hall

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- Parking and the downtown height ordinance were two major topics of discussion at the Auburn University Student Government Association Town Hall event Tuesday. Tuesday's event featured leaders from the City of Auburn, including Auburn Mayor Bill Ham, Auburn City Manager Jim Buston and several members of the Auburn City Council.

SAA applications out now

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)- The Student Alumni Association has opened applications to join their Board of Directors for the next school year.  The Board of Directors focus is on forming connections with alumni and helping students transition into being successful, engaged alumni.  The Board is composed of six committees that focus around planning events, networking with alumni, raising scholarship funds and building a larger sense of Auburn University in preparation for graduation. Some duties include helping support the SAA with events such as the Auburn Hospitality Tailgate for home football games, Golden Eagles, Lifetime Achievement Awards and more.  These events help students have the opportunities to interact with alumni.

Auburn to partner with NASA on 3-D printing

AUBURN, Ala. – NASA and ASTM International, a global standards organization, have selected Auburn University for two new partnerships that will spur technological advances in additive manufacturing, also known as 3-D printing. Auburn, expanding upon its existing relationship with NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center, has formed the National Center for Additive Manufacturing Excellence.
