New spring break opportunity to assist with tornado relief

AUBURN, Ala. -- Auburn University is providing students with a new opportunity this spring break, by allowing students to assist with the Lee County tornado relief effort.

"Student Affairs has worked closely with Auburn University Administration to help coordinate the relief efforts from Auburn students," said Office of Student Involvement Service Programs Advisor Robert Powers. "We know that many students want to help in any way they can."

The effort will take place on Monday, March 11, through Friday, March 15.

"It will pretty much be an all day event," said Auburn University Director of University Communications Services Preston Sparks. "So certainly students will need to plan to be there throughout the day."

Interested students are encouraged to meet at the Auburn University Band Field parking lot at 8:30 a.m., where they will board Auburn buses and head to the damage sites. They will return to campus around 4:30 p.m.
