AUBURN, Ala. – Tuesday night, February 5, Hunter Short was announced as the new SGA Treasurer.
The main focus of Short’s platform as treasurer is the importance of representing the Auburn students. As treasurer, Short plans on implementing an open door policy, as well as focusing on budget transparency and financial literacy.
“We want to make sure that we’re giving students resources they can use to become financially literate on Auburn’s campus,” Short said in an interview with Eagle Eye TV after the announcements were made.
Short is a junior from Columbus, Mississippi, studying accounting and supply chain management. He has previously served as an Auburn Supply Chain Management Ambassador.
“Coming from a small town in Mississippi, this is a dream and it’s a dream come true,” said Short. “It is a surreal feeling and I can’t stop smiling.”
