Annual Auburn CityFest this weekend

AUBURN, Ala. (EETV)– The 18th Annual Auburn CityFest, sponsored by MAX and media sponsored by the Opelika-Auburn News, is less than a month away! Join Auburn Parks and Recreation at Kiesel Park on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. for a day of fun.

The Auburn CityFest Committee is excited to announce this year’s theme and entertainment. It’s time embrace Alabama’s rich history, the theme for Auburn CityFest 2018 is Native Alabama! From the decorations to the entertainment, Auburn CityFest 2018 is all about The Heart of Dixie.

The Medicine Tail Singers will be headlining on the Children’s Entertainment Stage, Sponsored by ALFA Insurance, in the Children’s Imagination Station. Coming from many tribal backgrounds, The Medicine Tail singers and dancers were established in 2001 and have been performing together for 15 years. They have traveled all across the United States singing at powwows and performing at various celebrations and cultural functions. The Children’s Imagination Station will also feature many other free children’s activities.

Headlining at the Entertainment Pavilion will be Tony Brook Band. Tony Brook is from Waverly, Alabama, and has influenced the local music scene for 20 years. The band is known for their self-written county and American music. Opening for Tony Brook Band will be Dogwood Lung, an up-and-coming group that possesses a desire to break the mold when it comes to local music. Their musical style is described as dream pop and indie rock. These impressive and upbeat performances are a must-see show.

Auburn CityFest is Auburn’s largest FREE outdoor arts and crafts festival with over 100 arts and crafts vendors, nonprofit vendors, children’s activities, great food and more! This is a rain or shine event. For more information, please visit www.auburncityfest.com.
