Johnson, Smith, Davis, Carlson named All-Americans

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - The Associated Press announced their 2017 All-American's Monday, selecting four Tigers to the list. 

Offensive lineman Braden Smith was selected as a first-team All-American. Smith started all games this season tallying 27 consecutive starts since 2014. 

Smith helped play a key blocking role in the Auburn run game leading the Tigers to 2,966 rushing yards on the season. 

The Tigers added 3 other players to the second-team All-American list. Running back Kerryon Johnson, kicker Daniel Carlson, and defensive back Carlton Davis all received honors. 

Johnson led the Auburn run game with 1,320 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns on the season. He also would add 188 yards receiving and 2 receiving touchdowns. 

Carlson played another key role for Auburn finishing the 2017 season with 117 points and went 75% from placekicking. 

Following the Tigers win over Ole Miss, Carlson became the all-time leading scorer in the SEC with 413 career points. 

Davis locked down the Auburn secondary throughout the season, opponents to throw for 2,311 total passing yards. 

He would end the 2017 regular season with 11 pass breakups, 1 interception, and a fumble recovery.

The four All-Americans will lead the Auburn Tigers against UCF in their Peach Bowl match-up Jan. 1.
