Baseball announces 2018 schedule

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Auburn baseball announced their 2018 schedule, which will be highlighted by 19 home stands in their first 21 games. 

The Tigers finished last season as the runner-up in the Tallahassee Regional and will return seven of their pitching leaders and seven position players who started at least 30 games.

Auburn will look to key returning players such as pitcher Casey Mize and infielder Dylan Ingram to lead the Tigers through their regular season schedule. 

Right-handed pitcher Mize went 8-2 last season with a 2.04 ERA and 109 strikeouts. While Ingram led Auburn's offense with 8 home runs. 

Opening Day for the Tigers will bring Longwood to Plainsman Park for a three-game series beginning Feb. 16. 

Auburn will face Georgia State, Tory, and Bryant at Plainsman Park before traveling to South Alabama Feb. 27. 

Nonconference play for the Tigers will be highlighted by a series with BYU and Northeastern before playing single game match-ups between Georgia Tech and Memphis.

The Tigers will open SEC play March 16 with a home 3 game home series against Texas A&M. 

SEC play will continue through May, with the Tigers facing Alabama in the Captial City Classic Mar. 27 in Montgomery, Ala. 

Auburn will finish out the regular season with a 3 game home series against SEC foe LSU May 17-19.
