Alspach and Le Beau honored

Alspach and Le Beau receive honors this week

Auburn, Ala. (EETV) - Soccer's Hannah Alspach has been named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week.

Alspach, a senior defender, scored the only goal in the Tigers 1-0 win over No. 22 Texas A&M on Friday, Sept. 15.

“She is a great player for us, and we had been trying her up on the right wing," said Coach Karen Hoppa. "Hannah has really done a great job and earned that spot."

During the win against Texas A&M Alspach was able to score on a left-footed curve 8:23 into the game, which would be the decision maker for the Tigers.

Alspach wasn't the only Tiger to be honored this week, Sarah Le Beau was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week.

The redshirt junior goalkeeper had 5 saves in Auburn's win over the Aggies. That number is astonishing considering Texas A&M had scored 5 or more goals in three games.

This is Le Beau's third time receiving the honor and is the first Auburn player to win it this season.

The Tigers travel to Knoxville to face Tennessee on Thursday and will return home Sunday to play SEC opponent Kentucky.
